This sharing is based on Peter's experience when he walked on water (Matthew 14:22-33).
As I was reflecting on his experience, I realized that the moment one decides to walk with God, they immediately become a target for the devil. Many a time, we don't notice this because the devil is smart enough to wait for that moment when we think we have everything under control - that moment when we become relaxed and think the devil has nothing on us. At that moment is when he will triple his attack on us. We need to realize that, if the Lord is with us, the devil will be on our case. He is NOT going to let us go so fast, he is not a QUITTER! He is not like us. He has a target and he will do everything and anything to separate us from God.
To live a life that is pleasing to God in this world is like walking on water and at every moment we ought to realize that, if I am walking on water, I am actually doing something that is a miracle hence I can fall. Once we acknowledge this, it will encourage us to remain focused, it will make us not unnecessarily expose ourselves to danger. In other words, knowing that ALONE we can not do it, will make us see the need to spend much time in PRAYER and BIBLE STUDY!
Moral of the Story: As Christians living in this world, we need to understand that there is a possibility of us falling BUT this will not happen if we keep our eyes fixed upon Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
